About

I built this because nothing worked.

I've had seborrheic dermatitis for years. Not dandruff. Not a "dry scalp." The kind that comes back every few weeks no matter what you do — the flaking, the itch, the redness that sits right at your hairline where everyone can see it.

I tried the clinical treatments. Ketoconazole shampoos that worked for a few weeks, then stopped. Zinc pyrithione that dried my scalp out so badly my hair started thinning. Steroid solutions that felt like a last resort I wasn't ready for.

I tried the natural side too. Every oil, every scalp scrub, every "dermatologist-approved" routine from Reddit threads I'd read at 1am. Some of it soothed things for a day or two. None of it actually fixed anything. Some of it — I found out later — was feeding the Malassezia yeast causing the whole problem.

I spent a long time feeling like I was doing something wrong. Like if I just found the right product, the right routine, the right combination — it would go away.

It didn't. Because the product I needed didn't exist.

The gap nobody filled.

Here's what I eventually understood: seborrheic dermatitis has a cause. Malassezia overgrowth. And it has a secondary problem — a damaged scalp barrier, stripped by years of harsh treatments and the condition itself.

Every product I found treated one or the other. Clinical actives hit the cause but wrecked the barrier. Natural ingredients soothed the barrier but didn't touch the cause. Nobody had built something that did both — in a formula gentle enough to use every single day.

So I built it.

What Scalpa is.

Scalpa is a two-product system — a daily leave-on serum and a treatment shampoo — formulated around Piroctone Olamine and Ginger Root Extract, with a full barrier-repair stack of Ceramides, Niacinamide, and Zinc PCA.

Piroctone Olamine is the antifungal that trichologists have trusted for decades. Ginger Root calms the inflammation. The ceramides repair what years of treatment have damaged. Together, they do what nothing else was doing — treat the cause and repair the barrier, every day, without destroying your hair in the process.

I'm not a scientist. I'm not a dermatologist. I'm someone who spent too long looking for something that didn't exist, and eventually decided to make it.

Scalpa is for the person who has tried everything. Who knows the difference between dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Who is done with products that weren't built for them.

It was built for me. I think it was built for you too.
